Favorite track: Monolithe IV.

tr_🇺🇦 1st experience with Monolithe and quite a shock how busy this sounds. I struggle to call most of this doom metal as it's mostly "mid-tempo". Still, fine metal with an unquestionably doomy aesthetic. Feels like 3 songs rolled into one. The last ten minutes should please funeral fans the most. Female choirs are used too sparingly. Not exactly Cryptopsy playing doom metal but keeps moving forward always. Alienating to the unwashed masses but maybe just what you need to find your way to doom.

"Monolithe IV" does not deviate from the template, it is a substantial jewel; a cosmic trip offering over 55 minutes of perfectly-orchestrated Doom, controlled from one edge to another, never interrupted by silence. More dense and more powerful than even its glorious predecessors, "Monolithe IV" is a colossal apotheosis, marking the end an unforgettable journey that began ten years earlier with the cult album "Monolithe I".

Monolithe IV 57:00
I create and erase. get born and die. Can’t cease to be. I’ve always been here. And always will. One thought is a cyclopean cataclysm. Or the blooming of a flower. I am everything. I mean nothing. Supreme and pointless. Ruling nothingness. Being nothingness. I am sane, as I am sanity. And insane like insanity. Time has no shape. One breath and a star had died. In a heartbeat. My eye is what is here. I can see. What I can’t see does not exist. Until I decide it does. I don’t decide. I am decision. And it’s opposite. I am the star that died. The cyclopean cataclysm. The bloomed flower. Without need to care. I just have to be. I am not, therefore I am. Everything is here because I’m here. And here is also me. Everywhere is born from me. Recycling. Reshaping. Curing. Creating. Even myself. I am the creator and creation itself. Ontological. Lonely. Monolithic. And now let there be light. Once again.
